Ofer Bar Gil, an overseas member of the British Columbia Offshore Sailing Association, has built an amazing piece of public art, which he calls a Sunsetter, at a kibbutz in Israel. It will tell you exactly where on the horizon the sun will set on any given day of the year.
Ofer has done a phenomenal job of packaging some rather sophisticated astronomical knowledge in a way that anybody can grasp in an instant.
If you are visiting Israel and are in the neighborhood of the Sea of Galilee, it will be well worth your while to go to the Mevo Hama kibbutz and have a look at it.
